Our U9 squad had a great days hurling on Saturday in Youghal. There were teams from Cork, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Waterford taking part, all wearing and representing their county colours, so it became an intercounty blitz. The opening parade behind the pipers and the line of players for the national anthem was a great sight of intercounty colour. Three Ballygunner teams took part, each of which played very well all day, in very competitive games, against very strong opposition. The players all excelled and there were a number of victories for each of the teams, with some remaining unbeaten throughout. A big thanks to all the coaches and especially the parents who travelled to support the players throughout the day. Everyone represented their club and county brilliantly - a sign of things to come in the years ahead.
